Continent Logos

One does not need expensive tools nor courses to materialize one's art. You might be wondering about the use of continents in this website, and unless you are a bit stupid, you probably already figured it out if you explore my website. The way I categorize knowledge is not by assignments, accomplishments, or conventional labels, but by using an analogy of the continents of our world (this was written on planet earth, in 2025). At first, I was using Wikipedia's images, but due to its green color, and lack of originality, I couldn't stand looking at them. I wanted to recreate a logo of each continent my way, my style, minimalistic, free, and monochromatic. I turned to Google Drawings once again, however, I needed to draw a prototype first. Something occurred to me: I could use the grid pages of my commonplace book, one of my five senses (sight), and mathematics to draw each of the continents. Which is exactly what I did. I gazed at each of the continents' pictures, I deduced that every corner and boundary of the continent's outline could be drawn via a contoured capture of the grid paper commonplace book. Utilizing nothing but my sight, grid paper, a pencil, and a reference picture, I could contour the continent's boundary at will based on numeric distances between each boundary and corner:

If you look closer in Antarctica's sketch, you can observe the contours being aligned to numbers. After sketching every single continent, I needed to transform them to a digital form. Once again, reassuring and validating the statement of free public available softwares at the beginning, I decided to use Google Drawings. In Google Drawings, there is no grid background nor template that can be used to draw upon, however, thanks to my ménage à trois with Creativity and Action, something quickly occurred to me: utilize transparent-background grids from google, paste them on Google Drawings as images, and draw upon them. Which is exactly what I did:

After adjusting the grid, all that was left to do is to transcribe the sketch from the commonplace book to the Google Drawings newly created template using the contour math initially applied, and voilà, you have a minimalistic, free, and monochromatic logo of a continent, created, visualized, sketched, and contoured by human creativity and artistic expression. Here they are:
