Wesonder Logo

As I was finishing up a last couple of refinements for Wesonder something occurred to me: the logo of my first entrepreneurial instance was not designed by myself, which is a personal "sin" I cannot stand. I cannot stand my creations to have something not derived from myself. Not only do I feel like I am plagiarizing other people's art, but I am also increasing the unoriginality of my own, which I forbid from happening, ever, doesn't matter how better other contributions are, I will never allow that happen. Now, this is when it comes merely to my personal Art, not to a business, idea, work, or any other type of creation that requires a group of humans to function, in those cases contributions are more than welcome. However, being my first artistic work and entrepreneurial instance, I wanted to make a statement by doing it all by myself. Perhaps in the future, I will allow some space for wiggle room, but as of now, I am quite happy about this methodology. Using a sheet of paper, a pencil, numerical contours, and my eyes, I created Wesonder's logo in my commonplace book first, then I transcribed it to the digital format using Google Drawings using the same grid template methodology discussed in the Continent Logos article. Here's the sketch and Logo respectively.

You can see how I was attempting to draw multiple map markers, it was hard to decide which ones to use officially. In the end, I decided to go with a red filled one. The reason for this is because we associate map markers with these red upper-oval-lower-triangular shape icons, a collective image that Google Maps has imposed onto us. How many other images and ideas have technological enterprises imposed in our mind without our consent? And what's worse, without our conscious knowledge?...

Nevertheless, the final design was implemented in Wesonder's landing page, as well as feature's pages as well. The logo depicts the contour map of California with the aforementioned map markers indicating activity in diverse locations throughout California. The following is what a user sees as he/she first lands in Wesonder's landing page:
